Dr. Peterkin graduated cum laude from the honors college as a presidential scholar with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry/Pre-Dental Studies from the historically black Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. She later completed a Masters in Biomedical Sciences from Midwestern University and continued her studies to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the College of Dental Medicine - Illinois as the first BIPOC graduate of the inaugural program in 2015. Highly regarded as a comprehensive and compassionate clinician, she has advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, pedodontics, prosthodontics, and orthodontics with additional certifications in Invisalign and Laser Dentistry. She has been awarded the prestigious Fellowship in the International College of Dentists (FICD), the American Laser Study Club, and has been recognized as USA top 40 under 40 dentists in 2021. Dr. Peterkin can also be found serving on various boards within organized dentistry such as the National Dental Association and American Dental Associations, volunteering as a site preceptor for dental assisting externship programs across the valley, while simultaneously paying it forward as a pre-clinical adjunct professor and mentor for pre-dental & pre-doctoral dental students.
