Dr. Jennifer Nakamura is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and strongly believes health care is a team effort. She treats people as whole beings, taking into consideration their lifestyles and values. She says her job is to educate and make recommendations, but at its core, health care should be a collaborative discussion and partnership. Dr. Nakamura works with adults and has an interest in women’s health, including perimenopausal and menopausal care. She also has interests in transgender care and obesity medicine. When people come to see her in the clinic, Dr. Nakamura hopes they will come with questions about how they can improve their health and stay healthy. In her own life, she practices being present in what she is doing at the moment in order to balance work and family. She stays active by hiking and doing other physical activities and loves to travel and bake. She also believes it’s important to allow herself to indulge every once in a while in foods she loves like coffee with cream and brownies.
