I am an experienced psychiatrist with full UK registration & a license to practice (GMC no: 6148345). I currently work in a busy mental health trust in east London, where I manage the clinical care of both community and hospital patients with severe and enduring mental health illness. The work involves complex problem-solving and decision-making around diagnosis, treatment and risk within a sometimes challenging and under-resourced health system. I have a background in public health, epidemiology and research including having: o contributed to the surveillance of communicable diseases during the 2012 Olympics Games o undertaken a systematic review on monitoring lipid levels in patients at risk or with cardiovascular disease o lead on research and programmatic activities at an HIV clinical trial site, ensuring activities were consistent with GCP/ICH guidelines, implemented systems to improve data quality, and monitored capacity building and training o written successful funding proposals, including for the development of a university-based clinical research curriculum and a $13 million CDC grant for an HIV prevention program o conducted a national-level Clinical Site Assessment to examine the capacity for clinical research in Rwanda
