I am a confident, determined, self-motivated and hardworking individual with strong organisational skills. I am enthusiastic with a can-do attitude and a passion for clinical pharmacy. I believe we can make a difference in patients’ quality of life. I can work on my own initiative but also thrive in team environments and would be an asset to any working organisation. I love workplaces that offer me new possibilities, where the knowledge is shared for us all to deliver the highest quality of care. Rotating around several wards - endocrinology, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, MAU, CCU, stroke unit, mental health - and the Isle of Wight prison dispensary during these years means I have now a more well-rounded knowledge than when I initially started at St. Mary's Hospital (Newport - Isle of Wight) From 2012 to 2016 I was employed by MMHSCT and the Trust has since merge with GMW to form GMMH NHS Foundation Trust. I work mainly on a later life ward, acute and intensive psychiatric wards, a psychiatric assessment unit and a prison. This time has helped me to gain insight about the job. This post provides the opportunity to refine my skills and meet the challenges of a mental health care environment. I desire to learn how to best provide pharmaceutical care according to the best known therapy. I hope to do this by further developing my knowledge in Mental Health pharmacy. All the experience I have acquired due to the in-house training and Postgraduate studies has helped me to be aware about national guidelines and drug management of different medical conditions. Working with doctors on a daily basis has helped me to realise which are the main problems that newly qualified doctors face when they prescribe new medicines which they may not be familiar with. My experience in community pharmacy is a great benefit during the counselling process as it has helped me to develop a simple but efficient and clear way to give advice to patients.
