Dr. Banchs was born in Venezuela, South America, where he attended medical school at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Dr. Banchs came to the USA for further training in internal medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY, in cardiology at the University of Louisville in KY and in cardiac electrophysiology at Penn State University in Hershey, PA, where he was recruited to stay as faculty. He was recruited as Director of Electrophysiology and Pacing for Scott & White Medical Center - Temple where has led the expansion of electrophysiology services in the Baylor Scott & White Health Central Texas Region. Dr. Banchs has published several peer-reviewed manuscripts and serves as a reviewer for scientific journals. He focuses on ablation and device therapy for patients with cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure as well as left atrial appendage exclusion and comprehensive therapy for patient with cardiac rhythm abnormalities.Dr. Banchs has been recognized as a Top Doc 2020 by Austin Monthly Magazine. Winners are nominated by their peers as among the best in their region/nation in their medical specialty.Dr. Banchs has been selected as a 2023 Super Doc by Texas Monthly magazine. The honor recognizes providers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
