Dr. Janine Taira makes patient comfort her first priority. She especially enjoys esthetic dentistry and working with highly motivated patients looking for a smile makeover. She excelled in dental school and was one of only four students selected to train in Maryland’s residency program as a fourth year dental student. Dr. Taira attended the University of Maryland in College Park, MD, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology & Neurobiology and graduated summa cum laude. She continued her education at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, MD, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She was part of an ambitious yearlong curriculum in the Diamond Scholar program and graduated in the top 20% of her class. Dr. Taira’s areas of dental proficiency include general, restorative and cosmetic dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Taira has volunteered her time and skills to Mission of Mercy and has participated in numerous fundraisers to assist the underserved. When she isn’t treating patients, Dr. Taira enjoys skiing & snowboarding, tennis, hiking and trying new restaurants as an avid yelper!
