Mrs Shahid has over 20 years experience as a consultant in performing gynaecological procedures in the Worcestershire trust. She is a general gynaecologist with a special interest in the investigation and management of infertile couples and reproductive medicine. Mrs Shahid provides a wide range of services and is able to treat a large variety of gynaecological problems including heavy periods and other menstrual problems, pelvic pain, vulval disorders, recurrent miscarriages, polycystic ovaries and infertility and menopause. She also performs a large number of minor, intermediate and major gynaecological procedures including hysteroscopic and laparoscopic procedures and laparoscopic, vaginal and abdominal hysterectomies.

GYNAECOLOGICAL PROBLEMS: Heavy periods & other menstrual disorders i.e. inter-menstrual & post coital bleeding; Fertility & assisted conception; pelvic pain; vulval disorders; polycystic ovaries; post menopausal bleeding; ovarian cysts; pelvic infection; endometriosis; genital prolapse; fibroids; endometrial and cervical polyps SURGICAL PROCEDURES: Cervical smears; cautery of the cervix; insertion and removal of Mirena IUS and other coil; insertion and removal of vaginal pessaries; hormone implants; vulval biopsies; Marsupialisation /excision of Bartholin's cyst, Cervical smear, Cervical biopsy, removal of cervical polyps, Cautery to cervix, hysteroscopy and D&C and removal of endometrial polyps; endometrial ablation; , prolapse surgery; diagnostic laparoscopy; pelvic adhesiolysis; laparoscopic ablation of endometriosis; laparoscopic sterilisation; laparoscopic removal of ovaries / ovarian cysts; laparoscopic and open myomectomy and vaginal, abdominal & laparoscopic hysterectomies.
