I have been providing therapy in a variety of settings since 2011. My background as a paramedic and first responder led me to crisis work early in my career. I transitioned from a full time EMS and wilderness medicine instructor gradually over my years as an intern. My first full time position started at The University of Texas at Tyler and found me working with college students, providing education and early substance abuse intervention. Gradually my interest drifted to more independent practice as higher education started to change drastically. I did have the distinction of working as a counselor for the University of Alabama and the level of skills required were definitely the equal of any setting from which you can reasonably practice mental health. My work there as a crisis intervention specialist led me to a contract with the DoD out of the Air Force base in Abilene. Changing environments and responsibilities eventually brought me around to doing more telehealth and online platform work. The expansion of client possibilities has been endless. I currently have clients from Europe, Canada, Australia and many of the states where reciprocity is recognized in certain circumstances. I am dual licensed in Texas and Colorado and dual licensed in Texas as both an LPC and an LCDC. My specialization in school was family counseling and about half of my current practice is couples counseling.
