Mr Jagannath Chakravarthy is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hand, wrist, shoulder and elbow surgery. He has special interests in shoulder arthroscopy and shoulder arthroplasty. He is based in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead and currently sees private patients at Spire Washington Hospital. He also works with Cumbria Medical Services and provides a very popular local anaesthesia hand surgery service to the Cumbria community. He is dedicated to providing a personalised and high quality experience for his patients using evidence-based techniques and technology. His clinical practice involves a full range of shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist surgical procedures for most pathologies, including: Carpal tunnel syndrome Cubital tunnel syndrome Dupuytrens Contracture Ganglion cysts Shoulder instability Rotator cuff injury Tennis elbow Golfers elbow ACJ injury He has expertise in several surgical techniques, including: ganglion removal surgery, shoulder/elbow replacement, rotator cuff repair, shoulder/elbow arthroscopy, De Quervains release, Dupuytrens fasciectomy and synovectomy. Mr Chakravarthy completed his primary medical degree at the University of Delhi, India in 1998. He later completed a Masters degree in Orthopaedics at the same university. He then moved to the UK and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2003 and a Trauma and Orthopaedic Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2009. He also holds memberships with the British Elbow and Shoulder Society and the British Medical Association.
