Dr Iftikhar Ahmad is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in General Adult Psychology at The Vesey Private Hospital. He completed his medical degree at the University of Punjab, Pakistan in 1986 before relocating to the UK. He became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1996. After working in the UK for several years, Dr Ahmad relocated to Australia in 2005. He was awarded his Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2009 and dedicated his skills and expertise to the public sector Mental Health Services in Queensland until 2015. Dr Ahmad also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy (Relationship Therapy) from Sheffield Hallam University.Alongside his practice at The Vesey Private Hospital, Dr Ahmad also sees patients at Liverpool Hospital and Ramsay Clinic Macarthur, where he provides specialised care to adult patients. He also spends two days a week as a Visiting Medical Officer at Drug Health with Sydney Southwest Local Health, focusing on the management and treatment of addiction-related issues.In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Ahmad is currently completing his fellowship in Addiction Medicine. By combining his knowledge and expertise in general adult psychiatry with a specialisation in addiction medicine, Dr Ahmad is well-equipped to address the complex needs of individuals struggling with addiction and mental health conditions.
