About Ian Harrison: Ian Harrison trained as a Medical Radiographer in the NHS in New Zealand and had 3 years post graduate experience in Australia before moving to the UK. Here he worked in both the NHS and private health services with special interests in trauma, neuro-radiology and cardiology. He completed his 5 year Osteopathic training in London with first class honours and the Student’s prize and was mentored for 4 years by the British Olympic Osteopath. In 1997 he qualified in Medical Acupuncture. In 2008 Ian gained his MSc in Evidence Based Healthcare from the University of Oxford. Ian is one of the Hampshire Clinic consultants, presents at conferences and has lectured at the London School of Osteopathy since 1996. Ian is married with 3 sons and very spoiled dogs. He is a lover of outdoor activities (especially anything to do with mountains, water or rugby). Special Interests: Musculo-skeletal pain is the main focus of Ian’s working day including back pain, neck pain, sciatica, muscle and joint pain. This is the most common type of pain seen world wide and affects over 80% of the population at some time. His time with the Olympic Osteopath has helped with treating a wide range of sports injuries. He believes that giving the right advice and teaching patients to understand the mechanism of their pain or injury is important so they can take responsibility for their own recovery.
