Biography
I started working in the field in the 1970's. I've worked in schools, a family service agency, a clinic, and in 1987 became the Director of Dearborn Academy, a therapeutic day school where I remained until 2016. I started my private practice in 1983, servicing children, adolescents, adults and families. While I assume an eclectic approach, I am relational, and tailor the treatment to the needs of the people with whom I work. I am supportive and compassionate, directive, try to keep the focus on the problems people bring to treatment, use play, cognitive behavioral techniques, psychodynamic therapy and mindfulness. I attempt to foster compassion in my clients towards their effort to make changes in their lives, and emphasize a positive psychology approach.
