Hi there, I'm Helen! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I received my Masters from Azusa Pacific University and have been practicing for 8 years. I have worked with all age groups and specifically provided my focus on working with adults and older adults. Assisting in providing guidance in current or past life stressors, and finding the strength to work through those challenges. My approach I am a well-rounded therapist and often find myself utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing, Person Center, etc. My focus I have enjoyed my career working with adults and older adults. I have worked providing services for several conditions, some being, grief, life transitions, anxiety, depression, post-partum, etc. My communication style I like to allow clients to speak freely during their time, as this is a safe space created for the individual to discuss and explore the issues that they are facing and the reason it brought him/her to therapy. I will provide feedback as needed, and provide deep discussions and work with the client. Ultimately, I will leave it open to the client. My journey to mental healthcare I grew up in a first-generation Latino household. I have enjoyed learning how to manage life stressors while navigating the cultural shifts in the family. This inspired and drew me into the helping profession. My goals for you I allow the clients to inform me of the goals they are interested in working on. After much discussion, we can work together and tailor treatment goals that are realistic and the client is most comfortable with. My first session with you In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
