Dr Al-Rawi obtained his medical degree from St Bartholomews and the Royal London Medical School, where he gained a distinction in pathology. He was also awarded the Treasurers Prize for the best performance in his intercalated BMedSci degree, where he achieved First Class Honours.After completing his general medical training in London and the West Midlands, he began his general dermatology training at the nationally recognised Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. Following this, he undertook a fellowship to specialise further in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, dermatological surgery and lasers at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. This was consolidated further by working as a consultant dermatologist and dermatological surgeon at the world renowned St Johns Institute of Dermatology at St Thomas Hospital in London. He has since been working as a consultant at the Heart of England NHS Trust, based at Solihull and Good Hope Hospitals, where he is the skin cancer multi-disciplinary team (MDT) lead, ensuring skin cancer patients receive the best management. He is also a member of the the West Midlands Skin Cancer Expert Advisory Group.Dr Al-Rawi has a broad range of expertise within general dermatology, Mohs and skin surgery. Mohs Surgery is a highly specialised form of skin cancer surgery with the highest success rates. As well as experience in inflammatory skin diseases, he specialises in all aspects of laser therapy, skin lesions & mole assessments.Furthermore, he was selected for travel fellowships and attended several courses and meetings across Europe and the USA, many of which he presented at. He is a reviewer for dermatological journals.
