Trained in India originally, Mr. KandaSwamy completed his higher surgical training in Urology including Robotic & Uro-Oncology Fellowship training in UK and formal intensive laparoscopic training from the European Institute of TeleSurgery in Strassbourg, France and has obtained Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery. He is now a Consultant Urological Surgeon in a teaching University hospital in Swansea since 2016. He provides excellent and prompt care in all core Urology procedures, and in his area of sub-specialty interest in pelvic diseases - all prostate and bladder conditions.He provides a comprehensive diagnostic services and treatments for prostate and bladder conditions including Robotic surgeries, major exenterative and reconstructive prostate and bladder surgeries including joint procedures with colorectal, gyne, and plastic surgeons, apart from Urolift, urinary tract infections management, pelvic pain, penoscrotal conditions, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation.He is presently the Chairman of Welsh Urology society, UK wide BAUS council member representing Wales, regional lead for cancer / MDT for South West Wales, Royal college of Surgeons Welsh Board, Research lead and Deputy Cancer lead for Wales in Urology, apart from other roles.As the lead for surgical specialities, he oversees clinical training of Swansea University medical students. He is involved in research parterships with Swansea University. He is a national faculty for Urology training.As a member of many societies, he is active internationally in collaborations in developing Urological care, research, education and training.
