Dr Girish Gupta is a Consultant Dermatologist in Edinburgh and Glasgow specialising in skin cancer. He graduated from the renowned Manchester University Medical School and since then has gained significant experience in both medical and surgical disciplines. His special interests include the treatment of skin cancer, mole screening, teledermatology and laser therapy. While he is trained in a wide range of subjects in dermatology, his main focus is on skin cancer. As a result of his outstanding clinical performance, in 2009 he was appointed as the Clinical Lead for the West of Scotland skin cancer network and in 2014 he was appointed as a member of the National Cancer Research Institute skin cancer group. He has been Consultant Dermatologist in Edinburgh since 2019, having been Consultant Dermatologist in NHS Lanarkshire from 1999. Dr Gupta also leads on research, participating in numerous clinical studies and audits. He has written numerous articles in scientific journals, including a chapter in the international Textbook of Dermatology.
