I understand that seeking therapy can often feel intimidating. I believe it can be helpful to have an idea of what to expect. An initial session would consist of gaining some background information and exploring what you are seeking counseling for. Every individual is unique and has current and past life experiences that have affected the person in various ways. Issues should be therapeutically addressed based on the individual, as opposed to taking a "one size fits all" approach to therapy. Effective therapy results from empathy, understanding and a collaboration between therapist and client to work towards finding healing and resolving issues.
