Dr Gianetta Rands a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist who is dual registered in general and old age psychiatry. She specialises in cognitive impairments due to dementias and delirium and provides mental capacity assessments and management, as well as diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric illnesses presenting in older people. She is approved as s12 assessor for the Mental Health Act and medical assessor for the Mental Capacity Act.In 2015 Dr Rands retired from NHS work after 35 years and now focuses on developing her private practise and various roles in postgraduate training. She serves as a Membership examiner, and on several Committees of the Royal College of Psychiatrists as well as being available for medico-legal work. Dr Rands is also the author of the book, Womens Voices in Psychiatry; A Collection of Essays.
