Dr. G. David Zirin is a licensed clinical psychologist that has provided psychotherapy services for 25 years. He currently provides services by telehealth only, which he has found allows for the same quality of connection as in-office visits, with greater convenience, allowing for greater work-life balance. He is PsyPact Certified, which allows him to provide services to clients most states. He earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology in Boston, an MA in Counseling from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, and is cross-trained as an addiction’s specialist. He worked for 20 years providing psychotherapy at a federal community hospital, leaving to start his private practice during the onset of the pandemic in March of 2020.His specialized area of research is communication theory, which he applies to helping clients communicate with others with greater clarity and care, resolving conflicts more effectively, and can be used to improve relationships of all kinds, including romantic, friendships, coworkers, and supervisors.He has extensive experience in helping clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, social isolation, history of trauma, chronic pain and illness, addiction, anger problems, and relational conflicts. Many clients he works with are looking for emotional support and greater direction in life. Dr. Zirin teaches you tools to learn a variety of skills to help you live a calmer, more passionate life, with greater clarity of purpose. Some of the approaches he uses includes: Empathic Listening without judgment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Communication Skills Training, Mindfulness Practices (such as meditation and journaling), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
