About Dr. Alexander Dr. Gerald Alexander is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with over 30 years of experience. He has been a part of Fresno’s medical community since he founded Fresno Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Dental Implant Center, and he is truly dedicated to his profession. Dr. Alexander did his oral surgery training in Fresno, and after working in Vancouver, BC, for a couple of years, he returned to Fresno to open his practice. He has dedicated his practice to helping patients and treating them with respect and kindness. Outside of his work with his patients, Dr. Alexander teaches residents at local hospitals. He enjoys sharing his expertise to help future surgeons learn the nuances of the oral and maxillofacial surgery profession. Education After receiving his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas, Austin, Dr. Alexander earned his dental degree from Baylor University in Dallas. He worked as a public health service commissioned officer for two years until he was accepted into an oral and maxillofacial residency program here in Fresno. Residency Dr. Alexander finished years of residency training at Community Medical Center in Fresno (UCSF Fresno). All oral and maxillofacial surgeons are trained in anesthesia administration, surgical techniques, and oral pathology management to ensure they can treat patients at the highest level of care. In addition to his residency training, Dr. Alexander traveled all over the United States and Europe to continue his education and learn more about the most advanced treatments available in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. Certifications Dr. Alexander completed his certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. To receive this certification, Dr. Alexander had to pass a test demonstrating his knowledge of the conditions and treatments that oral surgeons must face.
