I have worked in the NHS for 22 years, mainly in acute care in five hospital trusts. I worked my way up from a junior pharmacist training in various areas to leading a clinical team of pharmacists and technicians. I continued to learn and have 4 post-graduate qualifications in clinical pharmacy, clinical education and independent prescribing. Recently for 8 years I was Education & Training pharmacist, until I took a career break for a year. On my return I moved to work at Greenwich CCG with the local care homes, looking to train staff in medication issues and improve medication management across the homes. After six months I was asked to lead the Care Home Support Team, and then to expand it to include a wider range of healthcare professionals and more training and support for our Care Homes.
