Dr Gautam Bhatia is a knowledgeable Consultant Psychiatrist who currently works for South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, as well as being a visiting consultant at Priory Hospital Hayes Grove. Dr Bhatia has extensive experience as a general adult psychiatrist and approved clinician. He became a consultant in 2014, and has since gained experience in specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients presenting with a wide variety of mental health problems; including but not limited to common disorders such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, stress, PTSD and personality disorders.Dr Bhatia holds a medical degree, as well as a postgraduate certificate in medical leadership. He is an approved examiner for MRCPsych exams (membership exams) with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and is also a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He trained in highly acclaimed and reputed institutes of psychiatry - University College and Maudsley training programmes. He is dual specialist trained in general adult psychiatry and liaison psychiatry.The basis of Dr Bhatias clinical practice is understanding the root cause of a problem in order to help patients alleviate their distress. He takes a holistic approach, treating each patient as an individual by considering their beliefs and circumstances.
