Professor Hamdy has been a Consultant Urological Surgeon for the past 26 years. He is currently the Nuffield Professor of Surgery & Urology at the University of Oxford, Head of the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, Divisional Director for Surgery, Womens and Oncology at the Oxford University Hospitals, and Fellow of Balliol College.He specialises and has vast experience in the treatment of prostate and bladder cancer. He qualified from the University of Alexandria, Egypt, trained in Surgery and Urology in the UK at Liverpool, Sheffield and Newcastle. He Introduced a multi-specialty robotic surgical programme to Oxford in 2009, and pioneered robot-assisted surgery at Oxford.
