I qualified in medicine in 1980 and was appointed as a Consultant Haematologist in 1990. I worked at the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust for 16 years, where I was also the Medical Director for 5 years, before moving to the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 2006. For five years I served on the Haemato-Oncology Task Force for the British Committee on Standards in Haematology. I have particular clinical interests in disorders of blood coagulation, haematological cancers, and general non-malignant haematology.
