A committed clinician who has worked in the NHS since 1989, I completed my higher specialist training in General Adult Psychiatry at South London and Maudsley Hospital and was appointed Consultant Psychiatrist with East London Trust in 2002 . I have developed clinical expertise in a wide range of mental health conditions through my work in community mental health teams, in-patient wards (acute, rehabilitation for treatment resistant psychoses and psychiatric intensive care unit) and also specialist personality disorder services. I have several Clinical Excellence awards in recognition of the quality of my work and my dedication to service improvements. I am passionate about working with patients and families to provide the right care and treatment from the start using a wide range of skills. Hence, I have also trained in variety of psychological therapies including CBT to Masters level, DBT, interpersonal psychotherapy and Prolonged Exposure trauma therapy. I was appointed Clinical Director at East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) in 2015 having been an Associate Clinical Director for 3 years .I have worked tirelessly with my colleagues to develop and deliver high quality care to patients with mental health conditions requiring secondary care treatment residing in Bedfordshire, a large rural county for which ELFT became the provider Trust in 2015. Our Trust was given an Outstanding Rating by Care Quality Commission in 2017, one of only a handful of organisations in England to achieve this rating. My senior management team colleagues and I were awarded the Trust's Robert Dolan Leadership prize in recognition of the work we did to improve services in Bedfordshire and Luton.
