Mr Farooq Khan is a Consultant Urological Surgeon currently practising at the private Spire Harpenden Hospital, in Harpenden and Cobham Clinic, in Luton. He specialises in General Urology and his areas of interest include laser prostate surgery and is considered a high volume surgeon with this surgical expertise (HoLEP) in the UK, Rezum (steam therapy for enlarged prostates) laser stone surgery, prostate disease, early prostate cancer detection, investigations for blood in the urine, treatment of bladder cancer, erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence and general core urology including circumcisions. Mr Khan graduated from University College London with a bachelors degree, a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with distinction (1996) and a Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons in Urology in 2008. Mr Khan has been practising urology for over 13 years as a consultant and completed urology training between 2003 and 2010 in Cambridge. He has performed over 1600 cases of 50 Watt laser prostatectomies (HoLEP) in the UK, with excellent outcomes. These have been presented at international meetings such as the American Urological Association, European Association of Urology and The British Association of Urological Surgeons. Additionally, Mr Khan is the course director for a laser prostate surgery masterclass which he runs for urological consultants twice a year.
