Mr Uddin completed his training in all aspects of ENT disease and undertook specialist fellowship training in advanced ENT surgery and has worked in university teaching hospitals for more than twenty years. He was awarded the prestigious Gold medal from the Royal Society of Medicine for his outstanding performance in the national final surgical exams, prior to his consultant appointment. He was appointed to the post of ENT consultant at the University Hospitals of Leicester in 2012. Mr Uddin delivers an up-to-date and specialist practice for both adults and children with ENT problems. He offers super-specialist clinics for nasal and sinus disease, children’s disorders and has a keen clinical interest in thyroid disease and head and neck cancer, and has set up a dedicated neck lump clinic to study his interest further. His medical research has included studies on the growth of new blood vessels in tumours, as well as observational patterns in sinus disease and the link between the nose and the lungs. With extensive experience in endoscopic (keyhole) surgery, and his desire for innovation and surgical advancement, Mr Uddin is truly a pioneer and master in his field.
