A nationally certified physician assistant, Erik Mahlstedt practices general orthopedics with an emphasis on the conservative management of arthritis, fractures and neck and back pain. He is pleased to be part of the Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Group. Originally from the Houston area, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver and his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of St. Francis in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He then returned to Houston and began practicing as a physician assistant in the area of orthopedics. He is a fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Physician Assistants in Orthopedic Surgery. In his free time, Erik enjoys spending time with his three children and his wife of many years. He enjoys multiple outdoor activities such as camping and hiking, and biking. He is an avid road cyclist and participates in the annual BP MS 150.
