As the Head of Mental Health I have led the team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the Sector/Area to commission high quality mental health and learning disability services and contribute to the development of national pathways and standards. I ensure the provision of an efficient, effective and high quality professional and well-co-ordinated commissioning service capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation. In delivering my role I am integral in Improving quality of commissioning products and outcomes. I ensure that high quality specialised mental health and learning disability services are commissioned in line with agreed NHS England expectations. I lead contract discussions with major providers utilising appropriate contract levers to improve quality and outcomes, reaching agreement with providers and ensure on-going contract monitoring and review. I lead the specialised commissioning team to ensure service delivery meets expectations, actions from serious incident reviews or other quality issues are followed up, reviewed, and action plans agreed with providers. I make sure that my team of case managers regularly visit and review services according to agreed contracts and quality standards. I have worked very closely with the Care Quality Commission on a number of areas in a number of services to support improvements. I lead on CAMHS as the lead commissioner for the Clinical Reference Group (CRG) on behalf of the Programme of Care e.g. I also as the head of mental health hold in the excess of £100000000.00 (one hundred million) work of budgetary contracts with our providers.
