I am an inpatient adolescent forensic psychiatrist and also provide court reports and community assessments, as well as inreach to a Youth Justice Residence and some work with the police in relation to children at risk of mass casualty events. I am also part of a New Zealand Raise the Age campaign group which is petitioning on behalf of raising the minimum age of criminal responsibility. I have been able to give evidence in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords in relation to the law as it affects young people and have also given evidence to the Justice Select Committee. I have also been involved in national and international research projects in relation to areas such as novel treatments for adolescents with emerging personality difficulties, and criminal law as affected by developmental immaturity.
