Emily is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (CSW005867) specializing in working with womxn across the lifespan as well as couples. Emily works with her clients on concerns related to identity development, relationship challenges, recovery from substance use disorders, shame resilience, perfectionism, and life transitions— career changes, breakups/divorce, changing family/work demands. Emily also has experience working with parents/partners as they navigate the recovery process of a loved one. Additionally, Emily works with individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one from suicide or accidental overdose.Emily’s goal in therapy is to help create a safe place where clients can show up authentically and explore parts of themselves that they have kept hidden. Through values exploration, mindfulness, meaning making, and cognitive exercises, it is Emily’s hope that clients will begin to experience freedom from old patterns that have kept them feeling unfulfilled.Beginning individual therapy can trigger a variety of emotions. If fear or shame is coming up for you, that is normal. It is hard asking for help and when we do, that universal fear of judgement or being found inadequate is often triggered.
