I am a second-career nurse with four years of critical care experience. I currently specialize in working with advanced heart failure patients at a principal ECMO and heart transplant center in Austin, Texas. I am a powerful force in the workplace and use positive attitude to encourage others in my roles as charge nurse, preceptor, clinical educator for nursing students, and board member for my local professional chapter. I am developing a personal interest in global healthcare delivery. This year I participated in a cross-cultural exchange with nurses from the University of Belize in partnership with Austin Community College. I also worked at the bedside alongside Kenyan nurses at Moi Teaching Hospital in partnership with the AMPATH Cardiac Surgery program. Nothing brings me more personal meaning than connecting with nurses and patients across the world. I am already planning for another medical trip in 2025.
