Emeka Nwokedi is a graduate of Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University Philadelphia where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree,(O.D.) in 2003. While in training at Pennsylvania he engaged in clinical internship program on the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases at West Chester Eye Associates in Pennsylvania, one of the most popular eye centers approved by the National Eye Institute, part of the National Institute of Health for national eye disease studies. Dr. Nwokedi, being a Texan left Philadelphia in the winter of 2002 to Brooks Army Medical Center in San Antonio to complete his hospital based internship. His clinical experience interacting with U.S. soldiers especially in treating eye diseases and prescribing special eyeglasses for them in preparation for their deployment to Iraq was second to none. Dr. Nwokedi also attended the University of Houston college of Optometry Optometric Glaucoma Specialist training.The Texas Optometry Board on dec 07 2007 certified Dr. Nwokedi as an Optometric Glaucoma specialist. He employs the new state of the arts computerized equipments such as the new Humphrey visual field analyzer 11-i series by Zeiss, Zeiss GDX-VCC, the Canon CR-DGi Non-Mydriatric Retinal camera(9th generation 100% digital camera and 10.1 megapixel)in the clinical evaluation of glaucoma patients. The Texas Optometry Board therapeutically certified Dr. Nwokedi to treat eye diseases in Texas. He enjoys treating patients with red eyes. He is also specially skilled in the examination of children, infants and patients who see double or blurry vision. Dr. Nwokedi in his practice sees lots of contact lens patients and patients that need eye exam due to diabetes and high blood pressure. Dr. Nwokedi is a member of the following professional association: American Optometric Association,Cornea and Contact lens Section,Texas Optometric Association, Dallas County Optometric Society Besides professional life, Dr. Nwokedi spends most of his time with his beautiful wife Sylvia, their sons Emeka T.J. Jr.and Chetachi Vince and their daughter Adachiso Cherish. He enjoys taking vacations and watching basketball especially Mavericks and Sixers.
