Dr Stephen is a doctor and an academic. She became a Consultant in Paediatrics at the Royal Aberdeen Childrens Hospital (RACH) in 2007, where she is now the lead for the Child Neurology service in collaboration with the North of Scotland Neurology Network (NESCANN). Based on her years of consultancy experience, her major clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of neurological conditions in children as well as epilepsy, headache disorders, neuromuscular disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. She obtained her MBBS with distinction from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India. After graduation, she spent 3 years for postgraduate training in Paediatrics (MD) and she obtained a distinction. Thereafter, she moved to the UK and obtained further training on Paediatrics, Paediatric Neurology, and Neurodisability in Scotland. Dr Stephen obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Neurodisability from Sheffield Hallam University. As an academic, she is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen. She teaches and tutors undergraduates at the University of Aberdeen, and teaches on the national BPNA headache (CHaT) and epilepsy (PET) courses. Dr Stephen undertook ILAE certified courses in Basic EEG and paediatric EEG interpretation.
