Since 1998 I have been an oncology pharmacist at Weston Park Hospital, Sheffield (part of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust). My role involves managing and developing the clinical trials service at Weston Park Hospital (a specialist cancer centre), managing the introduction of new drugs/regimens for oncology as the Drug and Therapeutics Committee Pharmacist and being involved in the delivery of the pharmacy clinical oncology service. I am a member of the NIHR-CPAS and BOPA Audit and Research committees and act/have acted as a pharmacy advisor to a number of clinical trials in colorectal, renal, lung and breast cancers, sarcoma and late-effects. Magnesium Depletion in Patients Receiving Cisplatin-based Chemotherapy was the thesis resulting from the completion of an MSc in Clinical Oncology in 2002.
