Mr Edwin Prashanth Jesudason (known as Prash) is an experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Hand, Wrist and Elbow Surgery. He currently sees private patients at Spire Yale Hospital.His main interests are in the following areas:Dupuytrens contractureNerve disordersArthritis of the hand and wristHand and wrist replacement surgerySports injuries of the wristMusicians hand disordersMr Jesudason gained his medical degree in 1999 from the University of Manchester before undertaking specialist orthopaedic training in Manchester and Lancashire. During this time, he spent a year training in hand surgery as part of a fellowship recognised by the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH). In 2012, he completed the British Postgraduate Diploma in Hand Surgery, awarded by the University of Manchester and BSSH.Mr Jesudason has an interest in medical education and trains junior doctors. He is an honorary senior lecturer at Bangor University and Cardiff University, and is lead clinician in trauma and orthopaedics at his NHS base, Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor. He has also delivered a number of national and international presentations during his career. His research interests include the assessment of nerve dysfunction and brain adaptation after nerve injury (through collaboration with the Hand/Brain lab, Bangor University). He is a national figure in sustainable surgery and is actively leading in the UK to reduce the carbon footprint of surgical practice.Outside of the hospital, he enjoys music and is an accomplished pianist. He also plays the pipe organ, guitar, sitar, and didgeridoo. He loves to spend time exploring the outdoors and enjoys family time with his wife and two children.
