I have a keen interest in supporting students who experience intersectional disadvantage e.g. those in care or permanently placed, living in poverty, with learning difficulties / disabilities, families who have experienced intergenerational mental health difficulties and/or intergenerational trauma. I’m passionate about capacity-building in educational settings where staff support students with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs. This includes using person-centred, narrative, and systemic reflective practice approaches, delivering training, developing whole organisation approaches, and modelling / co-delivering interventions. Other interests include critical educational psychology, systemic approaches, organisational psychology, community psychology approaches, developing person-centred practices, narrative therapeutic approaches, post-16 working, emotionally based school avoidance, and leadership theory & practice. Research methodology interests include: critical approaches to strengths-based research, participatory research, dialogic narrative analysis & interpretative phenomenological analysis.
