I am a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and have been working as a Private Psychiatrist in Dhaka, Bangladesh, for the past 3 years. Since January of 2018 year I have been working at the PHWC - Psychological Health and Wellness Clinic, as the Lead Consultant Psychiatrist and the Managing Director of the company. Prior to the move to Dhaka, I spent a year in New Zealand working as a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Community Psychiatry with the Counties Manukau DHB in Auckland, New Zealand. I worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Rotherham, UK for the NHS Drug and Alcohol Service for one year. I also worked as a Locum Consultant in various Trusts across the North of England for 6 months, before the move to NZ. I completed my training and achieved a CCST, Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in General Adult Psychiatry with an Endorsement in Addiction Psychiatry. My experience in psychiatry includes Adult Inpatient Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, Academic Clinical Psychiatry, Liaison Psychiatry, Rehabilitation Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Assertive Outreach, Older Adults Psychiatry and Adult Community Psychiatry. I was given a Honorary Clinical Lecturer status from the University of Sheffield and performed my role as the Undergraduate Lead for Psychiatry in Sheffield for 2 years. My teaching experience includes formal and ward based teaching of undergraduate and post graduate students in all aspects of the relevant curriculum. I have a research interest in Transcultural Psychiatry, was responsible for setting up a volunteer scheme between the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University along with Dr Adrian Phillipson. I studied medicine at the Bangladesh Medical College and Hospital and on completion did voluntary work with the Commonwealth Youth Program for one year, raising awareness about Drug Addictions and HIV/AIDS amongst the youth in Bangladesh.
