Following a successful career as an administrator in Her Majesty's Royal Air Force, I retrained and qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2017. Equipped with a wide range of skills and experiences including organising and decision making, and budgetary management, I am disciplined, professional and proactive. I have extensive experience working in local authority adult social care (ASC) and continue to build on this knowledge in areas such as major home adaptation with disabled facilities grants (wet-rooms, stairlifts, through floor lifts, ceiling track hoists), minor works and equipment provision, all with the aim of keeping people in their own homes, maintaining their independence for as long as possible. I have been employed as a Senior Occupational Therapist since July 2022, managing a team of 6 therapists and 8 therapy assistants. Duties include, but are not limited to, the management of the ASC Equipment Budget, liaison with health colleagues to manage the procurement of specialist health equipment, reporting to the ASC Leadership Team and most recently acting as the council professional lead in a joint multi-million pound equipment contract tendering process with neighbouring council and health organisations.
