Mr David Teenan MBChB FRCS FRCOphth Ophthalmic Surgeon I am an experienced ophthalmic surgeon having performed more than 32,000 procedures including LASIK and LASEK, with specialist interests in cataract and refractive surgery, cornea and external diseases. I am registered with both the General Medical Council (GMC) and the Ireland Medical Council (IMC). I am a fully trained Ophthalmologist who has undergone additional specialist training in refractive surgery and a full time ophthalmic surgeon. I am an active member of various affiliated bodies and societies including the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Irish College of Ophthalmology. Twice a year I attend International Medical Advisory Board (IMAB) Conferences and I am annually assessed by this board. The panel consists of several of the world’s most eminent Refractive Surgeons including Mr. Steve Schallhorn, former Head of Ophthalmology for the US Navy. I graduated from the University of Dundee in 1992 before returning to Glasgow to start my medical career. My first ophthalmology post was at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and from there I moved to Ayrshire to complete my basic surgical training. I then completed my higher surgical training in Wales before returning to Glasgow for a Corneal and External Diseases Fellowship at Gartnaval General Hospital. Following completion of this training, I worked as a consultant Ophthalmologist in Glasgow, Cardiff and Ayrshire and also as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons.
