A caring pharmacist who takes pride in providing a professional service. I enjoy feeling a part of the community and getting to know my regular customers and understanding how I can make a positive impact on their health and well being. I have a track record of embracing all commissioned services such as substance misuse, emergency contraception, minor ailments and flu vaccinations. I also have experience of providing a host of private pharmacy services, such as a comprehensive travel clinic, a skin/mole scanning service, testing/treating UTIs as well as a men’s hair retention service. In my current store we also administer vaccines to protect against HPV, chicken pox, pneumonia and hep B. I have a strong understanding of the business needs of my company and always strive to push the business forward in terms of prescription volume and providing services. I have recently completed my clinical diploma/Independent prescribing course with Keele University. During the clinical diploma my focus was on the chronic management of endocrine, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases in primary care. For the independent prescribing course I worked to improve my knowledge of common acute conditions, as well as childhood illnesses. In the future I believe being a prescribing pharmacist will help improve patient access to the right care within the NHS and help strengthen the relationship between community pharmacists and GPs.
