Mr Daniel Good MA, MB, BCh, BAO, MSc, PhD, FRCSEd (Urol), FEBU I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon working with a specialist interest in all Prostate Disease including prostate cancer diagnostics, Robotic prostate cancer surgery and also benign prostatic diseases (BPH/prostatitis). I completed Medical School in Trinity College in Dublin. I then moved to Edinburgh following my Basic Surgical Training and completed my PhD on the use of elasticity as a biomarker for prostate cancer. I completed my higher surgical training in Urology on the East of Scotland training scheme. I carried out a TUF/PS fellowship in Robotic surgery and prostate cancer. I also carried out a preceptorship in the USA at the Cleveland Clinic and spent time visiting High volume robotic surgeons in the US. In 2020 I led the introduction of local anaesthetic transperineal prostate (LATP) biopsy into NHS Lothian using Precision Point. I am a full-time consultant in the Department of Urology in Edinburgh where I work in a high volume Robotic surgical practice. I also carry out prostate cancer diagnostic work and also offer all aspects of General Urology including a focus on benign prostate disease/enlargement and am fully trained in Green Light laser prostatectomy. A keen educator, I am involved postgraduate teaching and research supervision within the University of Edinburgh, Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and Heriot Watt University. I also am heavily involved in research, with 2 large NIHR UK wide trials (TRANSLATE & PART), and am co-investigator on a prostate cancer imaging trial (PRISTINE) and other trials. I also hold my own research grant.
