I am Cristoniel Abrenica, MD, FAAP. I am a board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist and general pediatrician. I joined the University of Florida Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology in July 2020 as an assistant clinical professor in the department of pediatrics.I earned my medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. After an internship at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital, I moved to Chicago, where I completed pediatric residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital followed by a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at the McGovern Medical School of the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.I see patients at the UF Health Pediatric Specialties practices in Gainesville and Tallahassee. I am especially interested in general gastrointestinal disorders and eosinophilic esophagitis. I also like devoting my time to health administration. In fact, I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Health Administration at the University of Florida.I am a member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics. In my spare time, I enjoy singing, reading, traveling, cooking, staying in shape and of course, going to Disney World.
