Larissa was awarded an honours degree in occupational therapy in 1999 and is a registered occupational therapist Member of Healthcare Professionals Council, British Association of Occupational Therapy, College of Occupational Therapy Specialist Section in Independent Practice, BABICM and CMSUK. Larissa began her career in 1999 working for Social Services providing support for clients aged between birth and 102, project managing major and minor property adaptations and adaptive equipment. Subsequently has worked with both adult and paediatric clients. Within adult physical services she provided long-term adaptations, equipment and manual handling advice for clients with complex aetiology, orthopaedics, neurology and community care. Within paediatric services she supports children with complex needs including cerebral palsy and acquired brain injury. Has worked as a specialist assessor case manager wthin social care and privately, providing support for complex hospital discharges and complex long-term care management. This incorporated both paediatric and adult clients suffering from physical and/or brain injuries. Provides full assessments for solicitors regarding client function/need, intervention and review, sets up packages of therapy and care, risk assessments and service user plans to facilitate recruitment of care staff/support staff. Has provided support for clients with spinal injuries, orthopaedic injuries and brain injury and worked closely with solicitors, receivers and other professionals involved with brain injured and spinal cord injured children and adults. Supported care provision for children with multiple complex needs, cerebral palsy and brain injury. Experience of complex discharge packages involving multidisciplinary liaison and the recruitment of suitable support staff.
