I am honored to serve as the Director of Environmental Services at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington—a comprehensive 1.4 million-square-foot hospital with over 690 beds, renowned for its advanced services, including a Level II Trauma Center, the region’s only children’s hospital, specialized cardiac care, and more. With over ten years at Providence, a background in health services administration, occupational health, and education, experience as a certified nursing assistant, and as a former patient of the hospital, I bring a unique perspective and dedication to supporting our teams in delivering safe, clean, and welcoming environments for our patients and staff. My experience also includes owning my own cleaning business, which has deepened my appreciation for the critical role of maintaining a pristine and healing environment. My role involves overseeing three of the only departments—Environmental Services, Linen and Laundry, and Central Patient Transportation—that pretty much touch every open square foot of our hospital. These teams are essential to maintaining the smooth operation of our facility, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for everyone who comes through our doors. It’s a privilege to work with such dedicated professionals who play a vital role in patient care behind the scenes. My journey here has been shaped by a commitment to collaboration, continuous learning, and process improvement. I am passionate about working alongside our dedicated teams to foster a culture of innovation and teamwork, always keeping the needs of our patients and staff at the center of everything we do. I believe that the heart of healthcare lies in the hands of those who work tirelessly behind the scenes. My focus is on empowering our Environmental Services, Linen, and Patient Transport teams, ensuring they have the tools, support, and recognition they deserve to excel in their roles.
