I am a Consultant General, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgeon. My main interests are in disease of the liver, gallbladder, biliary system, pancreas and abdominal wall hernias. I work in one of the largest hepato-pancreato-biliary units in the UK. The unit is the major provider for benign and malignant liver, biliary and pancreatic surgery for the greater Manchester and Lancashire areas. I have large experience in the treatment of malignant and benign complex hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases. I do perform laparoscopic and open hepatobiliary, pancreatic and digestive operations, including liver and pancreatic resection, complex laparoscopic biliary and gallstone surgery. I have an interest in the treatment of gallstone disease with the most modern techniques with emphasis on rapid access to treatment and recovery. I also treat a consistent number of hernia cases with both laparoscopic and open approach. Emergency general surgery it is also part of my professional skills and duties. I am also committed in liver and pancreas cancer research programs with particular attention to surgery plus chemotherapy in the treatment of colorectal liver metastasis and preoperative assesment and evaluation for elderly patients undergoing HPB resection for malignant disease.
