Dr. Pietrak gained his experience in psychiatry by working in hospital wards and community teams both in Poland and the United Kingdom. In Poland he worked in the 1st Department of Psychiatry and the Mental Health Centre at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw (2005-2013). Since 2013 he has been working as a consultant psychiatrist in NHS trusts in England and Northern Ireland. He is an experienced general adult psychiatrist, with a special interest in psychotic disorders, depression, bipolar affective disorder, anxiety, social phobia and other phobias, panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Dr. Pietrak has completed a 4-year training in cognitive-behavioural therapy at the CBT Center in Warsaw and the Part 1 of EMDR training. Dr. Pietrak takes an eclectic approach which depends on the needs of a patient and he is able to offer a wide variety of therapeutic approaches including pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. Dr. Pietrak has also got postgraduate qualification in family medicine and internal medicine.
