Blend is the lead pharmacist for clinical services at the networked sites of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. His work focuses on clinical and operational service development and delivery. He is experienced in providing clinical pharmacy services, leading quality improvement projects, and writing clinical guidelines within NHS settings. He has over 5 years of experience working as a clinical pharmacist for NHS Acute Trusts in London across various specialties, most notably within acute medicine, microbiology, cardiology, and respiratory. Blend graduated from University College London (UCL) with a first-class honours MPharm degree and also holds a postgraduate degree in clinical pharmacy practice from Keele University. He has since taught and supervised UCL pharmacy students on clinical hospital placements. He is also an academic supervisor of junior pharmacists undertaking postgraduate education including post-graduate diplomas in clinical pharmacy practice. He has previously published academic works in reputable U.K journals including the Pharmaceutical Journal and JAC-Antimicrobial Resistance.
