Qualified as a nurse in 1990 and found employment within the prison service working as a healthcare officer. During this time I qualified as a paramedic and emigrated to work in the middle east in 1997. During employment in Abu Dhabi, i worked as part of Sheik Zyed's Royal flight and gained certification in HEMS ground and flight crew, working as a paramedic for desert challenge car rally 1997 and part of the Victory team F1 powerboat team as a paramedic. I returned to the UK in 1998 and returned to my previous role within the prison system. in 2000 I gained new employment in the emergency department qualifying with both a BSc in specialist practice and as an Emergency Nurse Partitioner. Following my qualification as an ENP I was approached by the university to develop the ENP program for the West of Scotland, during which time I have published 3 academic papers and worked as part of a specialist working group for the Scottish government researching Doctor light medical services in the out of hours period. I left the NHS / University in 2011 commencing my present post with Vascutek as the clinical services trainer. Outside my professional role I am a Regional Commissaire for British Cycling in the disciplines of Road racing and Cyclocross and also a UCI accredited driver for Cycling World Tour Events such as the Tour de France, Giro and la Vuelta.
