Mr Birender Kapoor is an experienced consultant orthopaedic surgeon who practises at Spire Liverpool Hospital. He is also the current orthopaedic oncology lead for the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospitals. Mr Kapoor specialises in hip replacement surgery using both cemented and cementless implants, revision hip surgery, and partial and total knee replacements. He has worked as a consultant in trauma and reconstructive surgery for six years and was previously the trauma associate clinical director.Mr Kapoor co-founded LiMBS (the Liverpool Metastatic Bone Service) which helps treat cancers that have spread to the bone. He performs massive endoprosthetic replacement to reconstruct the bone following cancer removal and allow the patient to stay mobile and pain-free. He is currently a board member of the New Techniques and Devices Group at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospitals.Mr Kapoor is passionate about teaching and is an honorary lecturer at the University of Liverpool where he teaches medical students. He also teaches senior orthopaedic trainees, physiotherapists, and nurses. In addition, Mr Kapoor has a keen interest in research and serves as a reviewer for Strategies in Limb Reconstruction Journal.
